Bell Mobility…

I bought my phone, the white Samsung M500, back in October 2007. It was a replacement for the LG piece of crap I had (full battery/full signal would not make calls… uh..?)
I haven’t had any problems with it. None! It’s a great phone. The battery strength lasts a good few days and the reception is good too. Not excellent but good.

Well, while Nic was out canoeing, I stopped in at my parent’s house to hang out for awhile. I set my phone down on the coffee table. The next thing I knew it started flashing with a black screen. Uh oh, that can’t be good…
I took out the battery in an attempt to reset the phone. That didn’t work. I called Bell.

“My phone is flashing a black screen. I haven’t even dropped it in water or even dropped it.”
“Uh… this is interesting. You’ll have to take it into a store to send it in for repairs.”

Sounded good to me! Around 1:00 on Sunday I hopped into a Bell World and told them my dilemma. “Sure no problem. We’ll get you a loaner phone. That’ll be $25, plus a $100 deposit.” !!!!! Ah whatever. If Samsung has my phone for a decent amount of time, that $25 will be worth it.

I left the store and went on my way. When I got to where I was going, I made a phone call. Or at least I tried.
“…. welcome to the Bell Mobility Network!”

Ughhhhhh!

What happened was… (what tech support told me over the phone because the stores were closed at 6:00)… the service rep had activated my loaner phone under someone else’s account. WHAT?! How in the world do you DO that?

I was mad. So yesterday (Monday) I parked in front of Bell half an hour before they opened. I was running late for work but this needed to get fixed. It did. But even the manager and service rep that were in the store looked really confused. That was weird.

So I’ve got a loaner phone. But that also means I don’t have any of my contacts. Gah!

And yet, another reason why I can’t wait to move to Rogers Wireless!

Wow, this was longer than I thought it would be! Eep!
